Yesterday was THE day for a cookout and we were fortunate enough to be invited to TWO! How cool is that???
Our first invitation was from Julie and Richard and it didn't take us longer than 15 seconds to accept! We had a great (and relaxing) time sitting outside by the pool, eating burgers and dogs and all the traditional cookout fare, and watching Kate play. Julie's mom and dad were there, so there were just 7 of us - warm cozy - a lovely afternoon!
Richard and Julie's driveway was lined with flags (and considering the length of their driveway, it was an impressive display). Red roses in the front of the house and Old Glory flying from a post on the porch of their 2-story Colonial completed a "pretty enough for a postcard"view as we pulled up. So pretty!
From Julie and Richard's house, we went to Greg and Amy's to stop by and wish them a happy memorial day.
Matthew greeted us at the door with hugs! He is SUCH a sweetie! We visited for a while on the back porch with Greg, Amy and Amy's family. It's always a treat to sit on the back porch and relax (do you sense a "relaxation" theme today?) at Amy and Greg's. They have those comfortable chairs... and comfortable conversation... and well... it was just comfortable. And did I say yet that it was relaxing???
Greg was off to help his brother-in-law play with this water heater, so we headed out with him. Matthew sent us off with another big hug.
Family, good food, a very nice day!
Happy Memorial Day (late!)
